Pacesetter headers from Ebay

I just got done installing corvette heads and pacesetter headers on my lg4 86 t/a. everything went fine including the fit of the headers except where the tube that crosses under the oil pan mates up to the left collector. My brother and I looked at the fittings and gaskets they had included with the headers and arrived at the conclusion that donut gasket they sent was too large. I found the right size at a local parts store and lo and behold, though there is a small misalignment at that point, the exhaust was sealed-for two days untill the donut disintegrated. Does anybody have any ideas as to how to more permanently seal this joint. I've replaced the first donut with the same again, just so I can get to work without every policeman I pass giving me a second look.
