i'll need to take some good/recent pictures, the ones on my page don't do it justice as that great pic of yours does.

also, i'm in sac, you should bring your 'bird when we get a cruise together!

Off topic i know but my hedmans went in easy as a $5 woman.

Sagging engine mounts perhaps?

Reviving an old topic here.

machinist, how did it all come out?

I had my car up in the air today, decided to see if I could tuck mine up a little tighter. I had never hooked up the cat hanger from the LG4, have a borrowed wire welder, so thought I'd give it a try. Loosened things up, held the cat up with the floor jack, welded the hanger to the pipe clamp (they were so close together, you'd think I'd planned it that way), tightened things up again. Much, much better. Also have the piece of mind knowing it's supported properly now.

But, it wasn't nearly as bad as machinist's was before I started.

I was looking at your pic again and with that angle pic its hard to see how close to the ground it is,so Im wondering if your car is sitting on level ground how many inches from the ground to the bottom of the pipe??? 3" or so

Im going to try and get a pic of mine tomorrow to post

zdude.

Sorry for your problems.

On mine the Y pipe is up nice and tight. The photo of your car shows it to be pretty low, but it should not scrape.

If you can get it up on a lift, see if you can add a hanger to pull it up. If not you must have a screwed Y-pipe.

I know it has happend to a few people on this board. I went Holly on the headers and cat back and I can't be happer. My TA is lowered an inch, but not as low as yours.

must be frustrating. good luck

I got mine at summit and then sent them off to Jet-Hot.
You can also get them strait from jet hot for a few dollars more.

I seem to recall that one person got the 2055's from Jet-Hot and had a Y pipe problem. also, they worked with him and got the problem taken care of without to much trouble.

your 91 isn't a true dual exhaust? If it is you shouldn't need a Y pipe. Hmmm maybe that was just the 350. I thout after 88 they were true duals.

Hope this helps and good luck.

Yeah, machinist, the originator of this thread.

He never came back to tell us the final outcome. That's why I asked.
