Heddman headers and Ypipe

Hey guys...I just bought another 91Z with the L98 dual cat setup. This car is totally stock and I wanted to put some better exhaust on it. Im gonna go with the FLowmaster Force II catback, but wanted to see how good the Heddman headers fit? Also, any idea how much the shorties run from Jethot with the Ypipe? Im just looking for a decent setup to drive everyday.....and dont want to spend a fortune. Thanks in advance......

If you wanna stay cheap - coat them yourself. I'm baking as I speak. I got an old oven from a yard sale for $25, 20 feet of 8 guage 240 volt 50 amp wire. Disconnected inside oven, used wire to reconnect yard sale oven on the deck (this way I don't kill the cat, the children, the fiance', and don't stink up the house). Some Cermachrome or VHT Flameproof and your all set. After I'm done, I'll either sell the oven to another header-baker, or dismantle it into the junkyard so no one ever cooks food in it. It's no Jethot, but my total cost is $55 for ceramic-painted headers.

When I bought the coated Hedman hedders from Jet Hot they ran me $311 including shipping. The Y pipe was $189. Make sure the O2 bung is there. I had to send the one hedder back for them to weld it on and recoat the hedder. Free of charge (there mistake).

That's why I said:

It sure beats nothing!

you can get the hedman's coated from hedman... the elite series(?) headers are the same, only with bigger flanges and coated! thats what im getting when money comes in. Also im going to make sure i get my 02 bung with my y pipe.. If not ill just have some shop weld one on. The price for the coated ones from jegs or summit is 259.99 i belive.

Those prices must be for standard headers - I'm emissions, and had to fork over the big bucks for AIR - and at a current $9 an hour in this economy - hence the need for cheap!

If you get a cat that doesn't require air injecton you would prabably still pass emissions testing. Thats what I plan on doing, and if I don't, I can turn in the recepts as work to fix the problem all we have to do here is put 400 into emmissions repair, and between the exhaust and cat, I would be close, I can through in some more sensor recepts I replaced and be there with no problems (to bad my spoiler doesn't count LOL)

But then again I could be wrong, I don't want to make anyone fail emissions. But the 95 or so 1500 trucks don't have a Air pump at all from the factory and they pass. (well unless you are CA, then they have special CA emmisions on them)

Just do it right the first time.... Buy the headers from Jegs,etc.....then send them to jet hot for the ultimate coating...there's even some $20 Jet hot coupons out there right now that someone would probably give up...Just save the money and do it right
