Hedman AIR TUBES (Should I cut them off inside?)

Here is a picture of my Hedman shortie headers. I notice the AIR tube protrudes significantly into the exhaust stream. I've seen some headers, like SLP, the AIR tubes are flush with the header.

Could I just grind these flush or near flush?

I can't see how these things sticking out can be any kind of good for the performance of the treefitty, seeing as how they are only short tube headers to begin with?!

Well my friend pointed out that the point of AIR is to put the AIR in the middle of the exhaust stream... so SLP makes more power, but worse emissions..... I have to pass emissions and have to delete my EGR or run with a vette setup.... so i might just leave them how they are now....

Actually I think that the air goes to the cat once the car is warmed up so those dont make a difference after the cat warms up. I would trim them. You will do better on your emissions if the car is warmed up anyway.
