opinions on my exhaust setup....

Hey I finally decided what exhaust to go with. Just need a few questions answered. Im definitely going with the JetHot Hedmann shortie headers and Ypipe, which means converting from dual cat to single which isnt a big deal. I do have a question about ordering a cat back though......does it really matter which one you order? How much different will one be for dual cat versus single? Just trying to find the cheapest version.....Im sure my muffler shop could fabricate the Ipipe to connect to the cat, right? And finally, which catback would be the cheapest and sound decent(besides Dynomax)????? Thanks

The biggest difference typically is the connection to the cat vs. connection to the cats.

Why buy one that doesn't fit the combo you're installing? That would just mean extra expense and the chance for that minimum-wage muffler tech to botch things up.

Get the Hedman y-pipe for '86-'90 TPI single-cat application, direct-fit cat and cat-back for same, and it will all bolt together.

You can get ceramic coated hedman shorties with thicker flanges and thicker gauge tubing for 259.99 from summit and jegs.

Yeah I know all about the Elite Series. They are essentially the same header as the 68470(according to Hedmann) BUT, they coating only comes with a year warranty. Id rather go with JetHot for the headers/Ypipe....if the coating ever comes off, I can send it back. Just need some advice on the catback though.....whats the loudest??? best flowing??

If I can be honest with you, I have owned the Ellite Headers for over a year and they look the same as when I bought them. Furthermore, the hedman Y pipe is an absolute piece of ****. If I were you I would use the extra money you could save buying the headers coated from hedman and have a y pipe custom made.
