Dual Exhaust/Header Questions

I need help I have a shop willing to build me a true dual system! They are going to try to run it over the passenger side axle like the one at maniac motors and on Willie's car. My question is they are not sure they can fit both pipes over the passenger side is there anything special needed to fit 2 2-3/4" pipes over the passenger side? Also they are charging me $575 for fabricated header to cats pipe, 2-cats (catco), all 2-3/4" mandrel bent tubing, any welding needed, any hangers needed and labor. Is this a decent price? Now the Header Question if I get a reply soon enough, tomorrow I might be ordering Hooker Shorty #2460 the ones with out air injection and no y pipe is this correct for what I am doing? And also do they come with reducers? Any who bought them maybe can answer that for me.

Thanks For All The Help

Donnie

I've got the Hooker 2460's (Comps) on my car. They do come with reducers, but they're 2.25" IIRC. They are what you need to do it the way you're talking about. You could also get the 2055 super comps, but in all honestly I don't think it's worth the extra $200 or so for the super comps over the comps. You will need to get different gaskets and bolts though. The ones that come with them are alright, but it's not fun blowing out gaskets becasue the bolts loosen. I would reccomend Stage 8 locking header bolts and Percy's dead soft aluminum header and collector gaskets. It's going to cost you almost $100 for the gaskets and bolts, but it's worth it so you won't have to retighten header bolts every 2 weeks and replace blown out gaskets.

As far as the price goes, for what you're getting all mandrel bent pipe and cats and such sounds like a decent price. Willie spent like $600 for his and I can't remember if that included buying the pipe or not. It is possible to fit 2 2.5" pipes over the axle, however I'm not too sure about 2.75" pipe (which could be a little excessive in the first place). Dual 2.5" pipe will support over 400 hp.

BTW, what mufflers are you planning on running?

2 40's Series Flowmasters sitting side by side with the outlets comming out one side and if that does not fit maybe 2 Spintech Pro Streets. Hmm 2.25" he was going to use 2.5" up front maybe he can just use the flange and weld it to 2.5" piping and he useing 2.75" pipe cause it is wha he carries versus having to order it.

You might PM Willie, his setup is what you're looking for.

I made a 2" spacer to go between the frame & panhard support bar on the drivers side. I also removed the heat shields in the back around the fuel tank. There is enough room now for dual 4" if you had a mind to go that way. The link below has some pics of my setup.
