While changing my electric fuel pump, I removed my exhaust up to the catylic because I noticed that it was rusted through in some parts and well gives me an excuse to finally upgrade my exhaust system. Well when I turned the car on to see if I installed the pump on right everything worked but then the SES light came on it continues to turn on a couple seconds after the car is on. I checked it and my thingamajig gives me Code 43.I looked it up but Im still lost. Should I worry about this? The only difference that I could notice in my engine is that it's louder than it was before. Any input is appreciated. Thanks

it may be your knock sensor I got a code 43 and it turned out to be my knock sensor

 

Was your fuel mileage effected by the code 43? B/C since the light came on my mpg sucks! How much was the knock sensor? Was it hard to put on?
