Dynomax or Hooker cat-back?

After reading the forums, and discovering flowmaster isn't super great, I have decided to do a whole cat-back. (besides stainless steel pipes ). After listening to sounds on this site, I originally thought Hooker, but decided to try Dynomax sound. These are both on 350 motors I believe. Would these sound any different on a L69 H.O. with only a K&N so far? I would like to do full exhaust, but I do not know, are headers a pain the the **** to get to the exhaust manifolds? I would like longtubes, but I am uncertain on the y-pipe, but the y-pipe would still choke exhaust, so where could I pick up a y-pipe? I plan on gutting the cat, or making a pipe in place of the catalytic and beg to my neighbor to pass it (hell I got 10 months till new sticker anyway). That or, I am looking at a new catalytic. I have just enough for the cat-back exhaust, but am undecided. Should I wait and get headers, possibly cat, y-pipe, etc etc. or go ahead and get the cat-back? What do you guys recommend for header size, and which brand of cat-back and catalytic?

Flowmaster is great.

But IMO, Dynomax.

i have dynomax, with no cat and headers. its a real clean sounding exhaust. nice rumble and sings the good tunes. i enjoy it cause the tail pipes look stock and its noise level isnt super loud so it makes my stock irocs bark not worse then its bite if u will.

Well, I'm just not sure, and I'd like to get some stainless steel piping under there, because the stock pipes are getting to be Corrosion or something has them brown, has this brown crap all on it, like corrosion or something, and I need something clean looking. As for a catalytic, I might just do what I read here: cut the shell, pull crap out, make pipe through it, replace it. Were getting a smog test here in N.C. for sure one day, but it seems to not be the check your exhaust, its the plug in your computer kind
