Blowin' smoke with bad cat?
All the signs lead to a bad cat...or at least going bad. stumbling idle, loss of power, backfiring, 170K miles etc.......but smoke? This is not oil, were talking blackish brown smoke. I guess this could be the "clog" blowing itself out, since it only happens at high RPM.
anyone know a test to see if it's the cat?
