Old exhuast
Old exhuast
The exhuast on my car seems to be old and rusting. I was curious that if it being old might cause any power loss. The whole thing is rusted from the headers on down, even tail pipes. Only thing with no rust is the muffler.
I was thinking buying some ceramic coated headers, would they be an improvement over my current headers (they would be the same headmen header just coated). Thanks for any opinion.

im not to sure about power loss but, rust is never good, so maybe its a possibility. if you are going to get headers, i would just save up and get some hooker 2055's. i am in the process of saving up for some myself. they are quite a bit, but i think they are worth it. Also, get them ceramic coated. if money is an issue then i wouldnt necessarily suggest getting them jet hot coated becuz you have to figure.... your car wont last forever and after that u might not have a need for those specific headers. in any case, i would suggest some hooker 2055 headers and get a custom exhaust set-up if possible where you live. where i live a whole 3 in custom system is about 350 bux. not bad i dont think. hope i helped.

hey syxx613, i am from winthrop harbor...originally.
to answer the question if it is a stock motor than yeah the exhaust in stock form will hurt power. if you had headers and a better exhaust then i doubt it will hurt much power at all.
