Just ordered Headers/Y-pipe/3" pipe a bit of help.
Alrighty I ordered:
Hedman shorty-style headers, 1 5/8 in. primary tubes, 3 in. collectors $120
Hedman Y-pipe 1982-92 5.0L/5.7L (305/350) $99
Summit Aluminized, 3 in. x 4 ft. exhaust tubing $14
Ima get a hacksaw for cheap and saw the pipe and measure the size of my old cat (around 22-24") and clamp the pipe on my y-pipe and such. How much power would no cat add? Thanx Its coming thurs-fri and im buying 3 cases of bud light for the fun

Ok... WELL DONE on the $120 for headers... I got mine for $25 from a neighbor (bargains are the greatest)... you can pretty much get an 18"x3" steel pipe from auto zone or O'reilly's (for like $5) it will fit PERFECTLY where the cat did, well, with a cat-back also... that's what I run and it works VERY WELL., no cat gives it an extra little echo. you WILL like the difference.
good luck

MUAA HAA HAA,,, is right buddy... JUST wait until you pass someone on the highway at 4500+ RPM's... the looks on their faces as you rattle their windows... it's priceless... you have NO idea of the coolness that awaits you. Or even better.., pulling out of your highschool parking lot (or old school) while the principal is walking by.... again, I say MUAAA HAAA HAAA.
it's even cooler when a punked out r!cer comes to a stop light and starts revving... I usually open my electric cut out and give a good flooring (it sounds like a top-fuel drag car...)..although it's much prettier through the muffler >>
