Some Info about "Summit brand" shorty headers

I read somewhere on the board where siomeone had the "summit" headers and the flowtech headers side by side and they looked the same. Well, I ordered the summit headers and when I pulled them out of the box yesterday, they have the flowtech part number on them.

So, if some of you guys are lookin to save some money, Summit has their headers on sale for $68.xx until halloween. That includes O2 sensor bung, collectors, gaskets, and bolts.

Not a bad deal if I say so myself. Especially since the flowtech's sold under their name go for $89.99

Later,
Herb

..And the flowtech y-pipe is only 99.00 to hook those up.

THe problem is with flow.. once you get in the high hp range, they flow bad.

Also, they get really really hot, and the gaskets leak cuz the flange is too thin.

on a stock motor these headers should be fine thought. what would i do about a y-pipe for my car because i have dual cats. does flowtech make a y pipe for dual cat cars?

No, single cat, 2.5"

I'm running these on my 11 second car. But.. I think they are too small/thin.

Remember that these only have 1 1/2 primes.

For anyone with a TPI (especially with a 5spd/L98 cammed car), I HIGHLY recommend you go with the 1 5/8's, or 1 3/4 if you plan on getting your heads ported and upgrading the TPI to high flow parts...

Why TPI? A stock TPI setup hardly flows anything.

On a setup like mine, the 1 3/4 is prolly the best route to go.
