There was an 87 IROC (350 LT1) for sale by me that had straight pipes. I test drove it and it wasent incrediable loud... Totally road legal no problem. I looked underneath, nothing, just fricken piping, then when it got to the rear the pipes came together and did a bunch of loops and twists separated again and came out in 2 different pipes. Anyone ever seen this?

Yeah, did they do an engine swap into the 87? No fbody before 92 got an LT1 unless there was a swap done. And, the exhaust is most likely custom made. Is it true duals or is it the basic stock set up?
No no, it was a swap
. But check this, it had the TPI unit. My friend Mike told me it's a bitch to use the TPI on a LT1 (to get the bolt holes to line up. It was 2 pipes, one coming from each exhaust manifold. I dunno, it sounded cool.

umm... would be a little weird because the water neck and the dist hole. They make a super ram for the LT1 so you could put a TPI system on an LT1 engine. Just get the super ram base. Now thats a swap that I havent seen.Originally posted by Codename 47

sounds like you need to get some block numbers....

Well, you could be able to tell by looking for a the front water neck and a dist. If there is neither where they should be, then its what I described as using the super ram for the LT1 and putting on TPI.Originally posted by Codename 47
