Where should I put my exhaust cut out?

Hi I have a 1992 Camaro RS V-8 305. Nothing is modified I do not have headers. My ? is where should I put my exhaust cut out I wanted to put it before my catalytic converter but I was told that it would hurt the performance of my car bad because I do not have headers and there wouldn't be enough back pressure is this true? I was told to install it behind the converter by the rear axle. I had a flowmaster 80 series muffler put on my car for it to be loud but the catalytic converter hinders the sound it should have bad. any suggestions where I should put my cut out to get the strong race car sound without losing a ton of horse power?

I would say that putting it in front of your cat. would be fine, and wouldnt hurt anything, after all the whole idea is to elininate backpresure. Loss of back pressure is only bad if it is done to a 4 cyl. even though it isnt the biggest V-8 in the world, it will run fine anywhere you put it. Hope I have been some help, let me know how it works!
