Cutting Header air tubes?

hey guys,

How do I cut the tubes off. I got some ideas but what did you guys use and also how or what did you do to weld up the hole that were left there?

I have removed all my air stuff so I dont need the air tubes on my headers.

thanks!

I used a hacksaw, then a handheld grinder to smooth them down, then a simple spot weld in the hole and then light grinding to smooth and finish it off.

What kind of headers are those? The flanges don't look designed very well. It looks like the 4 primaries go into 2 small primaries that are the same size as the other 4 - seems like that would hurt flow a lot. Sorry, not trying to hate or anything, just wondering. Good luck with the AIR tubes, it's not as hard as it seems.

They are SLP's Tri-Y headers. Yeah they do look funky but I have heard that they are one of the best headers for the 3rd gen. They dont make them any more. Ive got an other post on down the line about them. Here's a pic of the Y-pipe.

To me the headers look like a long tube header design but making them into short headers. Hell I dont know. I just bought them.

Thanks for the heads up on cutting the tubes, that sound like an easy way to do it.

Gee those look awfull neet!

The tri-y design is a great to balance power output through exhaust tuning.

Also look to be built very very well.

Get those ceramic coated!
