Polished or chrome tips
Does anyone make just a simple, polished, 2.5" x 12" (or better length) exhaust tip (kind of like m-stang lx pipes) or is it something that one has to make for themselves ? I'm not too awful fond of the Z28 tips on the 'bird anymore but, can't find any normal tips over 8" long.
I don't want 3", 3.5" outlet pipes (3" may be acceptable though), no rolled edges, no intercooled, nothing.. just plain-jane, straight 2.5" polished tips. I'll make them if I have to but, I'd rather be lazy and just buy some.
Thanks.

polished tips are chrome.......im pretty sure no one is making them out of aluminum.
any exhuast shop should have/be able to get them in any size, and straight or slash cut ends.

Thanks 91Z.. that's exactly what I couldn't find using Google. I believe I have found the tips I want. I appreciate the help.
383... polished (stainless) is not the same as chromed metal except in appearance.
If there was a real exhaust shop around here (Midas has been boycotted for life), I would have started there. Unfortunately, there isn't and after an hour or so using Google, I had to break down and ask for help here (or lose my mind looking).

and the word polished doesnt necessarily mean stainless steel, stainless steel just looks that way as long as its smooth....its not polished nor does it ever need to be polished

chrome doesnt rust....its a non ferrous material.....steel and iron rust....which is what you see when you see rust on something thats cheaply chrome plated.....if something is properly cleaned and triple chrome plated it will not rust.....ever.
you can't attain the same luster from stainless steel you can with high quality chroming....its simply impossible to get the surface that defect free.
i work and weld with stainless all the time.....im not telling you this because i saw it once.

I really didn't intend for this to turn into some big drama about finishes. I just don't think we are on the same page about what we are discussing. That's the only statement I was talking about.
The Magnaflow 304stainless tips are 98% close to what I wanted
They are highly polished and 'chrome-like' in appearance. They however, are not chrome plated which is what your statement indicated (or maybe I misunderstood). I'm well aware of what stainless is and looks like because I've welded on and worked with it before myself.
The main point of all this nonsense was I wanted either some polished stanless tips, such as 91Z posted a link to or, some chrome plated tips... something with more luster than just making slash cut mild steel tips and, I wanted something realitively normal sized (2.5"-3"). I guess I just didn't communicate what I was looking for clearly enough, my mistake
