Is the Pacesetter shorty header for 82-92 a good choice?
I am debating on purchasing the pacesetter 82-92 shorty headers, and wanted some nonbias feedback on them. I have an 82 trans am 305H and was wondering what the outlet at the y pipe is on these headers.MY heart tells me to use the 2055 hookers, just trying to avoid the collector size diff. and additional cost. thanks.

Welcome aboard.
I attempted to investigate the very questions you're asking about 2-1/2 years ago (back when those headers were reasonably priced). I inquired of both JC Whitney and Pacesetter, and never received an answer (well, the JCW "customer service" rep read out of the catalog for me).
I haven't heard anything on this board that would lead me to believe they are a good choice. You're much better off with the 2055's. What "collector size diff" problem are you talking about?

Hello, and thanks for the reply. I have the understanding that the 2055's have a 3" at the Y before it goes into the cat, my stock exhaust has 2 1/4. I can overcome this if needed, i have been trying to post in the classifieds but i am having trouble with my browser. I would like to find a used, unplated set with y pipes. The air tubes wont be needed either.
