little problem with my cutout...

I have had a cut out on my exhaust for over a year, with no problem except that I have never been able to get it to seal correctly (don't ever buy anything that has the Jeg's name on it...). Anyhow, about two weeks ago my Dad tried to seal it with some rtv on the gasket. I let it dry and then put it on as tight as I could get it. I didn't get many turns on it so I was going to get some pliers to tighten it but I forgot. So, today I was driving around and heard a pop and then my exhaust got loud. I thought it just blew the rtv out, but when I got home the entire plate and the 3 wingnuts were gone!!!
So....now I have to ride around with open exhaust. Does anyone know where I could find another cover/lid for my cutout??? I am sure a hardware store will have some wingnuts if I can figure out the size, but I don't know what to use for a cap....
Thanks for any help, guys.

Hey thanks alot, but as luck would have it, my friend happened to have a 10 year old cutout in his garage and the lid fit with a little drilling on the holes. But thanks again for the offer

Use nuts instead. They will hold much better, and just keep a cheap wrench in your car if you want to uncap it.
