i just over the last 3 months or so got my engine in and new t700 in,, great ,,
now i need a custom exhaust,, this car is right hand drive,, so off the shelf headers are out of the question,,,everything will need to be hand made and mandrill bent,,what size is common and what setup,works,,my engine mods are listed,,i was quoted yesterday on 1 5/8 headers into a 3 inch y pipe then into a 3 inch cat, then duel 2 1/2 out the back from the cat back,, or the same headers with a full duel system with the chassis cut out!! on the right hand side to get the pipes the same on both sides, and run a true duel system,, this option would be a duel 2 1/2 twin cat,, 1, 2 1/2 inch muffler each side setup,,would this be too much,,,i think the duel 2 1/2 would suit a 396 or a big block not a small block cause the 396,454 heads are bigger than mine are on this 409 sb chev,,,or he said he could run a single 3 inch or 78mm, system single pipe setup,, 3 inch cat setup,,i want a good sound and good torque,,,a system too big robs bottem end torque,,,IFFFF,,i had a set of weld tech heads or brodix heads it would be different,,the vortecs are small,,,i need a quick response ,,,,the system will be going ahead in 1 week,,,
