I'm sure this topic has been beatin into the ground many times. I've searched, but come up with nothing useful.

Will exhaust tips change the sound/loudness of my exhaust? I'm looking at buying 2.5"x24"x4" tips. I'm already running a flowmaster, but I'm not happy with the sound, I want it to be more aggressive. I probably won't be happy until it can match the sound of my truck. But back to the question, will exhaust tips make a difference in sound? Thanks.

there was a noticeable difference in sound when i put 22" long 3.5" wide midas tips on my ride. i also got a flowmaster muffler.

 

Does it give it more of a deeper roar?

 

not really a roar. i think the tone changed. its been a while since i put 'em on and i removed the cats shortly after that. that also changed the sound a bit. i get a lot of compliments on it from my friends. its not as loud as other cars but has a nice tone to it that i like hearing.

 

Just got some put on mine today, so I found out. 3.5"x24", they sound awesome, lowered the tone, gave it a bite, and made it louder at crusing RPMs. More than anything though they just look flat out good. Seeing all that chrome flow back behind the body effects. I'm going to go ********** now.

They are, it makes it look so much nicer. It's amazing how much of a difference it made.
