keeping factory exhaust?

My original exhaust (92 RS) is getting old. Got a couple small holes where it is deteriorating and eventually will need replacing. What are my options? I don't think replacement factory mufflers and pipes can be bought can they? I know a lot of people use aftermarket exhaust but I like the factory sound.

The OE exhaust pieces can be "had" with a little effort by your GM dealer's parts department and their parts locator. Waiting will do nothing but add to the frustration as quantities are limited in the system.

You should be able to get an aftermarket system that isn't as loud and sounds close to factory.

I've got a dynomax with 2.5" tailpipes on mine, looks basically stock, and is only slightly louder than stock. Real nice rumble

Dynomax is close to stock and will improve performance.

i used an 80 series muffler w/ dynomax exhaust tips on my 305. The tips look exactly like stock, just that extra 1/4 in. bigger. They slid right in. I'm happy w/ mine, looking to get hedders soon though.

If you research the exaust threads here one of the guys posted yesterday he is replacing his whole system and he was jus gonna chunk the stock stuff!!! I'm sure you could work something out, If so let us coat it and repair any ware on the stuff and all you will have to worry about is maybe a cat replacement in a few years!!!

thanks guys, since I've left it 100% stock for this long I figure I might as well just leave it that way for good. Since it's just an LO3 I am not worried about performance gains either, I just like the original sound. I've already got a loud car.
