installing headers

installing headers

hello people !i have a 86 chevy camaro and i just got some chrome shortys but i cant get them on and i'm tring to get some tips on installing them .it seems like the motormounts get in the way. can some please help and email me at d_gill2002@yahoo.com thanks a million

what headers u have? not many i know of have clearance problems with the motor mounts.

usually u can get both in from uptop depending type and size.

i had to take my engine mount bolts out and raise it up a little, to get the driver side to drop in, these were hedmans.

If you mean "block huggers" forget it. It isn't going to happen.

They won't fit, and more than likely they have center dump outlets.

This is what I am thinking. You need headers that are desing to fit in a 3rd gen engine bay. Any small block headers will not work. They will bolt to the motor but won't clear anything found under the hood of a 3rd gen, including motor mounts.

i got my blockhuggers to on my 3rd-gen i welded 1'' plate on the motor mount brackets.
