!air

i am going to be deleting the air from my 91rs and at the same time i want to take the air tubes off my manifolds but i am not sure what size plugs i will need?

A quick search shuld give you your answer. I think it is a 1/4" npt brass fitting but I may be wrong. Good luck getting them off. You may be better off just capping the top and leaving the individual pipes alone.

just soak them down with pb blaster and if you have a vice grip put the manifold in it and then just work them off

yeah should be able to get to them still on the engine.

i just cut my tubes and then came back w/ a socket wrench to take the bolts off.

couldnt you just plug it off at the check valve i know it wouldnt be the cleanest looking thing but technically it would work right?

well i just removed the tubes from both manifolds today and i want to order the plugs in the next day or so but first i want to make sure that it is 1/4"plugs i need

Qucik question tho, why waste the time to do all that? Aside from a somewhat "cleaner" engine bay, there is NO advantage to removing it, especially with a stock exhaust manifold.

It cleans up the engine bay and removes a few pounds of the front end. I really don't see the point with removing the AIR but keeping the stock exhasut manifolds. You might as well just get headers and do it the right way.

I did it because:

1.) Car doesnt care if I rip it off...
2.) Little less weight, little more power
3.) I got big arms and it was MUCH easier to change the plugs with the tubes off

if you havent gottnen your fittings yet just make sure they have a hex head instead of a square head. It makes putting them back in easier
