I have a 92 Z/28 with TPI 305, F code motor. It has the single exhaust. I need to know what size so I can order my Edelbrock exhaust.
Thanks,

Engine code F has a 2 3/4" intermediate pipe. But most aftermarket replacements are 3" as mentioned, which bolt right up to your stock cat without any adjustments.

See, the confusion is everywhere
From my circumference measurements divided by pie, it looks like I have the 2.5", but who knows if it was swapped etc. By engine code, it should be 2.75 according to Edelbrock, but I can't get a direct answer. I looked at the intermediate pipe and it looks like the donut on the edelbrock I-pipe is bigger than the replacement cat I got from Autozone. I guess its possible their part is universal between the engine codes, wouldn't be the first time. Arghh, can't wait too much longer, the muffler and tailpipes fell off the car last nigh
while my fiance was driving. Hmm, could I measure that pipe (right before it would go into muffler) and assume its the same diameter as where it would come out of the cat?
Thanks a bunch!
