I wish I could've gotten the SLP. I think it's got, By Far, the best sound out of ANY aftermarket car-back. I'm sure I'll be debated, but in my opinion it sounds Kick ***!! Only thing I don't like is the Two On The Left exiting tailpipes, but I'd get over it.
I have it on my 305 TPI (I know, not TBI), and am very happy with it. I don't have any real before/after performance data, so I won't risk stating anything there. I love how it sounds though and get complements all the time. I've always got to explain who SLP is whenever somebody asks what exhaust system I have.
One thing about the two pipes on the left side is that it make your car stand out. It also says SLP to people in the know and also its not the run of the mill fake dual sysytem. Its different!

I've got the SLP catback system on my car, and I also have to say that it is by far the best sounding exhaust. I used to have the Flowmaster American Thunder catback system on my car, and while it was an aggressive sound, the loudness inside and outside of the car was very tiresome. The SLP catback gives off a nice mellow rumbling sound outside which is not too loud at idle, but can roar loud when you get on it. I left the Flowmaster Y-pipe from the cats in place and stuck the I-pipe on the Flowmaster Y-pipe, and my SLP sounds a little more aggressive than other SLP systems I've heard. Also, I noticed a slight increase in power as opposed to the Flowmaster. I can wait to see how these sound with the SLP Tri-Y headers

I have a full SLP exhaust and I love the way it sounds also. When I bought my car in '94, the previous user had a Edelbrock muffler on it and I didn't like it.
The only bad thing about SLP is the price.
I too heard that the Gale Banks is good too but I've never heard it in person.
