Are all universal Catco cats considered to be hihg-flow or does it have to say hihg-flow specifically becuse all i see on summit are universal and direct and I'm planning on getting teh universal if it is a high-flow.

Spend the few extra dollars and get the direct fit Catco ( 3" in & out) and save yourself some problems about making it fit your car. Not a lot of room under there to play with. My opinion.

All Catco converters are considered high flow. I've got a 3" universal, and noticed no performance or sound improvement with a straight pipe, so the converter went back on.

Is the direct fit a little shorter than the universal to provide more ground clearance?

Ground clearance has nothing to do with it. Longer or shorter, it would affect fitment into the exhaust, and not exhaust ground clearance. The universal can be shorter than the direct fit. They make the universal fit converter in several different lengths. But most are shorter than the direct fit.

Installed the direct Ct-9118 Between my SLP headers and SLP 3"
catback exhaust with no problems, did use the SLP slip fit concector from the headers. When I installed my SFC's I did have to remove the heat shield from the Catco for clearance, but you may have to do the same with other cats. The Direct fit is the way to go.
