Stud on Header Flange Broke

Hi guys, Was working on the exhaust last night....When I was removing the nut from the left side of the cross-over pipe to the left side header the threaded stud snapped at the upper part of the flange on the header...The only way of removing the stud is to get it from the top of the flange.not much room to work with!!....Would a muffler shop be able to remove the broken stud...Or am I screwed??(have to take the left side header out to remove the stud???)....I tried removing it it wouldnt budge.rusted in there pretty good

The original cross-over pipe has a hole in it....I have a spare cross-over pipe wich I was trying to put in

I have Edelbrock headers

Help!!!

I would pull the header and try to get some vice grips on it. before you do that i would soak it with some PB blaster a whole bunch. Just unload the whole can periodically on the sucker. the stuff really works and soaks in great. If it is sheared off into the head flush than you will need to get an easy out.

don't you hate it when stuff like that breaks? I was putting a brush gaurd on my truck a few years ago and my friend was trying to losen a bolt and the damn head snapped off. Luckily there were three more bolts holding the bumper on.

He also destroyed a star bit when we were taking apart my engine, and twisted an extender. You know who you are Mr. 87ws6

Fixed

Hi guys.I went to the muffler shop and they fixed it.....The top nut on the top flange was welded in from the factory(Edelbrock)....The tech removed it with his torch. then he drilled out the broken stud

Replaced the cross over pipe with the new one.Everything is back together and running great

It cost me $83 Canadian
