hey guys i was wanting to do away with all my smog lines and such and instead of just blocking off the air passages on the stock manifold i wanted to get a soem what cheap set of heads with out the air lines on them and put them on my car but will i have to also buy an after market Y pipe to bolt up to the heads?

my car is an 86 iroc with 305 tpi engine will and all stock exauste with the exception of a dynomax muffler.

 

No headers currently being offered mate to the factory y-pipe.

No header manufacturer's headers mate to a different manufacturer's y-pipe. Translation: The headers and y-pipe have to be made by the same manufacturer.

Hedman and Flowtech are the only manufacturers I'm aware of that make "cheap" headers and supply a y-pipe. Neither y-pipe is the greatest, from all accounts.

The best combo of quality and price would be Hooker 2055's. Cut the A.I.R. tubes off if you insist on making your car illegal. The 2055 y-pipe is arguably the best designed part out there.

"Cheap" rarely is in the end.
