Stock sound/Borla

From what I read on these forums, I get the impression that no one likes that nice american thud of the stock exhaust... are there any better flowing mufflers/exhausts that keep that stock sound?

What does everyone think of the 4 tailpipe borla catback?

Thanks guys

I had the Borla catback on my stock 305 and i loved it, its all stainless steel and it comes with a cutout on the passenger side for them days you really wanna show off..

Lets put it this way, like i said i had a stock 305 + the Borla's on my car, one night cruising around i had a 2000 Trans Am Ram Air trailing me just listening to my exhaust, at a light he pulled up as said "Wow dude that car sounds PISSED OFF, i love your Borlas, you must have alot of work into that car" I just shook my head and said ya i got a few things done, the compliments were awesome i just wish the car was faster so i could have actually beat that ram air, good thing he didn't want a piece of me after hearing my exhaust.. If only i could get them to race me now that i got hell on wheels

I second the stock, mellow tone. It seems everything high flow/performance is really nasty or has a flowmaster drone. Other than wasting people with a sleeper, I like to drive my car during the wee hours and making all that racket pulling in or leaving my house is not in the least regard decent.

It is too bad no one else sells a muffler with sound similar to stock or Borla mufflers. Stock is well, stock. Borla, more than I would like to spend.

i just got a full 3" mandrel bent exhaust off of a guy in our club here in town and it sounds still kinda like stock altho it has a dynomax muffler with 4" tips altho when you get on it it sounds like it wants to chase and eat the car infront of it

Dynomax kits are about as close to stock sounding as you can get.
