Quick question on the AIR system

I've searched and I've read the FAQ here: https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...hreadid=228712

I have one final question though.

If I gut the cat, pipe it, and cap off the end of the AIR hose next to the cat so it's no longer going anywhere, will something break or throw a code?

I only need to pass a visual inspection, not a sniffer, when emissions come around again (Don't ask), so I would like to leave the AIR system in there instead of removing it.

You can gut the cat, plug the hole, and leave the AIR tubes in place without a code or a problem. The only problem is that over time your cat could clog over time if your engine is not running close to stoichiometric. I would not go through all that effort though because your gains will be minimal at the most. It is not really worth the potential death to your cat when you are keeping the stock pipe size.

Sorry to ressurect the thread but if the cat is gutted, how can it die(again)? Wouldn't it be hard to clog a straight pipe thats rather thick?
