eliminating converter-by adding straigt pipe
i live in indiana,the emisiion laws are supposed to change.can i replace the catalitic converter w/a straight pipe?will the ecm log codes & will there be any performance problems?

If you want to make it easy on yourself to put the cat back on, y ou can flange everything like I did. It makes putting the cat in, and easy 10 minute job.

Yes, you can, for "off-road use only".
It's a violation of Federal law to modify emissions systems with non-certified replacement parts or to make inoperative such emissions systems for vehicles operated on public streets, roads, highways and by-ways.

If any shop does it for you they are breaking the law. If you do it yourself you'll be ok until they start doing inspections again. EPA fines shops $2500 for removing a cat. I took mine off myself and ran a cutom made set up I built myself. As long as they don't do emissions testing here ever again I'll be fine.
