Drag exhaust..Appreciate some help from the pros!

Hi, I had an account on here a long time ago but since then have lost the username and pass. Anyway..

I have an 84 Z28 with a pat-musi 355, th350, moser 12 bolt, and a whole lot of other stuff. My new motor just arrived and It is a 383 all forged blablabla... Dynoed 620 at the crank without nitrous. Plans of 850+ with the nitrous.

My question is about the exhaust since this is going to be the most restrictive part of the build. I currently have SLP-1 3/4 headers into a mufflex 4" exhaust. This is not going to be enough to breathe this motor. I am going to need some long tubes and some way to dump it out. I would love to have some single chamber 4" flowmasters and have them dump out of the side before the rear wheel with 3.5x5 oval tubing. I do not think I am going to have the ground clearance for this. I don't think I am going to have ground clearance for 4" flowmasters either. I need to see some pics of some nice drag exhausts and some descriptions to get an Idea of what I can do. Any advise?

i would imagine that the 4inch exhaust is more than enough. otherwise run 3inch dual pipes with bullet race mufflers, or option 3 just buy some cutouts for right after the headers when at the track.

Is this car street driven or trailored? Because it makes a difference on the system requirements. If its street driven, Id loose the SLP setup and go with a set of 1-7/8 stahl or hooker headers, hooked up to a full Mufflex 4 inch exhaust system.
If its trailored , I,d use the same choice on headers, but hang 2
Dynatech (P/N 73-012402) 4 inch Quick tune mufflers right off the collectors. either way IS EXPENSIVE! www.dynatechheaders.com

It is street driven / track driven equally. I know the headers are going to be expensive. I am sure that I am going to need more exhaust flow than 1 4" exhaust. That was the limiting factor on my buddie's firebird with the same motor.

Well if the engine is a proven thing, then bump the exhaust up a notch or two. Then trailor the car because anything as loud as that, is goin to be a cop magnet at anywhere but a car show or legal racing event. Have fun! I do

Run some Hooker long tubes with cutouts right off the headers and then have a y-pipe made from that to connect to the mufflex system and you will be fine on the street and have open free flowing exhuast for the track..
