3 q's about new SLP headers
gonna be putting the headers on when the train goes back in, but what i'd like to know now from those with SLP's is (1) what all does the install kit come with, (2) did you opt for a remote starter solenoid, and (3) did you opt for a heat shield for the starter as well?

The install kit comes with the 2 donut gaskets for the collector/Y-pipe, and the four bolts needed to connect them. It also comes with all the gaskets, all the bolts, an extra bolt for the dipstick, and tube heat resistant tubes. I'm not really sure what they're used for, I didn't need 'em.
For the record, I only chose the kit because I wasn't familiar with what I would actually need, since it was my first header install. The donuts and header gaskets worked fine, but they shorted me on header bolts, and some of them weren't the right length. I don't think the kit is really necessary IMHO.
I'm not using a remote solenoid or a heat shield and I've had no problems.

do you have AIR on yours w/dual cats? was also wondering how the AIR system hooks up since the tubes come straight up from the headers vs. sideways on the stock AIR manifolds. guess that makes 4 q's...

how'd you get your headers so shiny? those are the stainless, right? or are they coated? they look nice. also, did you "convert" from dual cats to single when you did it, or were yours always a single?

I'm pretty sure that SLP has an application for all the questions you have.Dual Cat single cat, whatever.Just go to thier website and look under yer specific application, anyway.Have fun.:lala:

There isn't a real needed (I only used about half of it) for the install kit but it is nice to get all the parts at once. Not all of the bolt are the right length and you need to save the studs from the manifolds where the accesory support brackets mount to. I have the headers with air tubes. You connect the air vavles directly to the headers and then you connect them back up to the cat with rubber hose that is supplied with the install kit. All you really need is some hi temp hose. I think my hose even had "acdelco" written on it.
Off the subject...what brand of wire looms are those.
