Spintech mufflers + Loudmouth
High guys ive been reading through this forum for ideas on how to build the exhaust system on my 1983 Z28.
At first i thought my options were limited but after reading many posts im now floored by how many options that are out there.
I was hoping to get some feedback on my idea for my exhaust.
First off ill give ya a run down of the engine whats going in the car:
-1993 roller #638 block
-383 crank
-dished hyper pistons
-Protopline 200cc heads 64cc
-Chevy ZZ4 roller cam
-Airgap Rpm manifold
-10.18to1 compression
Now this combo should be good for 400-450HP
So ive got a pair off Hooker comp shorty headers that i bought 8 years ago but never used,im going to make my own Y-pipe out of mandrel bends using 2 1/2" pipe running both pipes to where the cat normally was, they will connect to a spintech muffler which is a dual 2 1/2" in and 3" out.
The muffler will be where the old cat was, then ill run a 3" from the muffler down along the driveshaft, where itll finish off with a Loudmouth setup, except im gonna fab it all up my self in mild steel instead of stainless.I can fab everything up and then just paint it with a header paint or a por exhaust paint.
Now do you guys think this setup will be ok with a 383 Pushing that kind of horsepower?
How bout the muffler location do you guys think its too close?
Any input and suggestions would be greatly appreciated thanx!
I forgot to add that where the loudmouth has the resonator i will be bolting or clamping on a dummy pipe the same length as a moroso muffler, just in case the system is tooooo loud i can just unbolt the dummy and bolt in the moroso muffler
