Going soon from stock exhaust to ???
Hey,
I currently have a pretty much stock 350 with Edelbrock Headers Edl-6875.
Should i do a true dual setup, or just do a single cat-back ?
I think i like the hooker sound and will use their mufflers.
WHat exhaust pipe size should i be running , someone said 3 inch is to much for the HP i have.......and what kind of cats are best for perfomance and install ease.
I basically would like to hear what you guys would do if you had my 89 formula to work with.

uhm, a single exhaust or dual exhaust depends on your budget. Personally I have seen that duals cost a heck of a lot more, a lot of custom modification, and out-perform only at huge HP #s, but for insane amounts of cash.
If you're a little bit more cash restricted (like most of us here) then you can get the headers (hookers are great, check stickies up top for pricing and quality info). Hookers or SLP's will be your best choice there, they both come with the best y-pipe. Then you can buy a cat, a high flow cat like one from carsound or catco will be perfect. (btw, you want 1 5/8" headers), 3 inch cat-back, and a 3 inch outlet cat will do.
The cat-backs are all pretty much the same in quality (since all are 3 inch tubings and mandrel bent) so it just comes down to what you like for sound.
