Which exhaust to choose

Now i know many people have asked this question, but what exhaust should i get on my 87 GTA. I want the loudest and meanest sounding exhaust i can get. I want it loud all the time and i was just wondering if anyone has any ideas. Thanks

Get the Loudmouth.

It's loud all the time.

Put a 3" cutout after your Y-pipe. The sound won't get much hairier than that

Hooker Catback > loudmouth
was that a mistake...that u think hooker is louder than LM?? i mean i've never heard hooker but i have heard LM on a 00 Z28...but what i'm getting at is...on the same car same engine...how can a MUFFLER be louder than a resonated (just about open) exhaust?? i can understand it having a VERY different tone to sound better but i can't see it being louder.

or do u mean that the hooker is only lound with a good amount of HP.

Flowmaster 40 series american thunder

Or, the amazing AIR exhaust system. Real simple. You take a blowtorch, cut off the stock system after the cat, remove old pipes, drop the car back down and enjoy your new warped exhaust valves!

(uh, just kidding. seriously, I'd go flowmaster or hooker.)

no harm in running no exhaust after the cat, it just gets really annoying driving the car. the hooker catback is nowhere near as loud as a loud mouth, granted, below the 3k the hooker is quiet, and above 3k its pretty loud

What ever you do, make sure you gain some power out of it. Have you considered to have dual exaust put in? Stereo is better than mono

Duals with '69 Camaro style chambered exhaust would be pretty sweet.

I still say get a cutout if you wanna make noise though. You won't regret it, because then you can just cap it when the girlfriend says its too loud.

cap the girlfriend
Hah. Good one!

My last girlfriend hated my 87 v6. All it had was a cold air intake and a flowmaster 80 series on it. And she said it sounded like a motorboat and told me not to rev it/shift early when I was in her community late at night.
