Edelbrock TES vs Hooker 2055s
unsure here. someone mentiond that 2.5" down tubes are unnessisary since a single 3" exhaust flows less then two 2.25". some of u might say the edelbrocks are junk, but i know of two peopl with em that have great luck with em. id buy mine ceramic coated from jet hot. should i save some bux and just get the edelbrocks?

Just looks at the designs and compare the 2. Tube size aside, the hookers don't narrow down like the edelbrocks do. They're basically pinched together to meet the collector and the "Y" portion of the y pipe, unlike the hooker's smooth transitions and superior overall design. I don't doubt that you recieved a nice gain from the edelbrocks though, as almost anything is better than the stock manifolds, but if you are going to do it, do it right and go with something with a better design such as the hooker 2055's or SLP headers.

I would go with the Hooker 2055's. I have the Edelbrocks and they are working great for me. But I got them used and cheap so thats why I went with them
. If I had the money I would have went the 2055's because like others said they have a better design.

yeah the 2055s seem like the best choice. now just to decide if i should order them from jet-hot or right from hooker. its too bad that people are having so many problems with ACS, i dont want to deal with that, plus i worry that a small company that hasnt been around a while might go out of busines making the waranty useless. leaning towards jet-hot right now

i got hooker 2055's from summit and then got them coated.
360 out of summit and 140 coated from jet hot with thirdgen.org member discount. LOL
Great product and smooth curves all over. fits well
Only problem is header collector hole is really small. like 2 inches diameter if that. Can open it up more by grinding out the material. think it can be opened to 2.25 inches or so and still seal correctly. not sure the gains to this. I havent done it so its just out of the box header. LOL power gains was good as is and sound improvement was awesome. LOL
Seen edelbrocks on other thirdgens and didnt like them as much based on appearance, and fitment. Looked pretty tight, alot tighter than my hookers.

wow, that saved u a lot of money then! they quoted me 680 shipped. maybe ill go the route u did and weld up the A I R tube holes myself, then send it to jet-hot.
yeah i heard about the collector problem. i have some real nice carbide porting burrs that id use to open that thing up as much as possible. i bet u can get it up to 2.5" dia safely.

With all the problems people have been having with ACS lately I would stay away from them for now. Jet Hot has been around and is a reputable company. Member

I got my hooker headers from acs and love them they did everything i wanted them to do. welded up the air and coated the headers. spend the extra money and go with the coated hooker 2055s they are a superior design to the edelbrocks

So I guess it would have been beter if we both stayed with the stock manifolds instead of upgrading to the "crap" Edelbrocks

After I made the posted I looked at his profile, and noticed he was born in 1987. I figure, he just hasn't had much experience building motors and fast cars. In a few years I think he will realize what we're getting at.

Joe is right, stick to hooker slp and hedman, i've seen all 3, hedmans were decent except for their Y pipe necking down to 2.5", the hookers seem decent, i'll continue to stick to SLP, none of em are the best, but all of them are better than edelcrocks.
What kind of proof that they are good is "ummm theyre are not crap, Actually they were very easy to install ( besides some bolts on the passenger side) I didnt need to remove the steerin shaft or nothin, took like lil over 7 hours. ?
The Y pipe is a squish together D instead of an actual merge, the assembly quality is crap, IMHO they fit worse than the other 3 brands mentioned, yes they flow better than stock manifolds, what a surprise, heck you could build a log manifold from tubing out of a catalog and still outflow stock manifolds.
