Grounding problems with coated headers

Has anyone out there experienced difficulty grounding their 02 sensor in a coated header. If the threads are coated and everything touching the heads is coated. How does the 02 sensor ground itself? Mine is acting strange now that I have SLP coated headers.

The threads on the o2 should have been cleaned out - at least screw the o2 in the take it out, get the crap out, then stick it back in. But, even just installing it once should take the stuff off enough to allow the o2 to ground to the pipe. Now, if the ground of the header to the block/rest of the car is in question, you could try with an ohm meter and see if there is continuity, it should be grounded with the bolts but it might night from the coating. At the very least, you could attach a ground lead to an exhaust pipe somewhere and that should clean it up. Even though its in doubt because of the coating, i would still there there was enough somewhere to allow the pipe to be grounded. Is it a new o2 or an old one? old o2 sensors although still working when removed can be figidity if messed around with and then reinstalled.

I took my 02 sensor out today and dremelled off the ceramcoat on the bung surface, installed a new 02 sensor and wah-lah. Everything was fixed. Car's running fine again! I guess the other one got fried during the header install.
Man does the car run great with those headers! Sounds like a 60's GTO or something too!!
