Air Tube Delete Plugs

Ok just a quick question. If it's a dumb one don't laugh

When deleting the air tubes off the stock manifolds, it's recommended to use brass plugs. What is the reason for that? Is it just in case you might want to take them out in the future?
Would steel plugs be ok if I'm not planning on taking them out later? Any info on this would be great. Thanks!

Anthony

I'm not sure what the stock tubes are made out of but I just cut the tubes off the flare fittings and welded the ends closed to use the stock fittings. Works fine.

steel will work fine.

it would just be a major pain to remove them later on....
