looking for headers - help

i have been looking at hedman headers for my 88 pontiac trans am. the part number is 68470. i have these headers sitting in my garage now. will this part work. i read that this part only fits angle plug aluminum checy heads. Is that true??? get back to me. i read that on the summit webpage. also, is there a ypipe that bolts up to these shorty headers becaus i cant find one. maybe run true dual but is it possible to run dual exhaust on my trans am. i cant find a place where 3" pipe can ruin. get back to me. thanks

I think you read the footnote wrong. What they are saying is the only angle plug heads they will fit is GM aluminum.

I'm not sure what they're doing with their y-pipes these days.

fst2qtrmile.... Look on my web page in the album "finishing touchs on 88 camaro"

Thats my true dual exhaust with hooker shorty headers. If you can bend pipes and weld, then it shouldnt be no prob.

Pipes will go right under the trans crossmember. It leaves me with around 1" ground clearance but thats due to me round crossmember, with a stock flat crossmember you'll have alittle more clearance.

Also look back through the threads at the post "duals aint gonna work" There's a guy that has a few real good pics in that thread.

Also look at the thread "hedman long tubes" I just posted a pic of the dual system me and my dad made up for his 82 firebird.

All of these duals run in about the same path. From headers, straight or close to strasight back, under the crossmember, mufflers placed before rear axle, at those two "humps" for the rear seats
