You'd spend less time replacing both gaskets than you would trying to find the leak.

I must agree man, throw on some gaskets and you'll save a couple hours trying to find the leak.

There's 2 ways of checking.

1) look to see if you see any black soot anywhere close to the flanges, like the tops of the gaskets, bottom rail of valve covers, etc

2) get a lenght of 3/8"-1/2" rubber hose. Put one end to your ear, and move the other end over the tops, bottoms, sides of flanges. The hose will block out alot of the sound and make where every you put the other end alot louder. So if you place it near an exhaust leak you'll know it fast. It will be loud!!

Make sure all your bolts are tight.

If you need new gaskets, I recommend copper collector gaskets. Summit has there brand for $10 for both collector gaskets, new stainless bolts, lock washers and taps.

For the flange gaskets, I recommend stock foil faced manifold gasket set, if you have square tube flanges. You know the stock type 3 gaskets per side type. They work alot better than the cheap paper 1 pc. header gaskets, and not near as high as copper flange gaskets ($30-50)

But you have to match the header flange tubes to the gaskets. If you have round ones, then you cant use the manifold gaskets and will need round hole header gaskets
