Emissions ?

I have a 1988 Trans Am with a 305 T.B.I 5-spd, and I was wondering if I could pull off the emissions equipment, I did not know if that would effect the tune of the car. I was wanting to put a set of non AIR equip headers on it.

Welcome aboard.

As far as I know, A.I.R. is not a part of TBI PROM tuning. It is on some TPI systems, however.

As long as the only thing you remove is A.I.R., you should be okay. You do need the O2 sensor, without a doubt.

If any TBI gurus want to correct me, please do.

No correction needed. The AIR will have no effect on the tune of your car. It may slowly kill your cat but that is it. You can pass the sniffer without it but you will never pass inspection. You need the 02 sensor in there, as stated above.
