Shorter plugs helped me - NGK, or even shorter are the Accel shorty header plugs if they've got the size you need. I've had good luck with both, just need to tighten down the screw off tips on the Accel's with pliers before installing them....

Irecently bought some plug wires from advance for a 70's model camaro and all of them were 90's. Ask for 70's wires for a camaro until they bring the ones with all 90's. After that I would get a set of wire looms. They dont have to be real expensive. Mine cost about $15.

You should be able to get the 8mm MSD's for close to that price...

Really, for the most part, wires are wires. My old race car used to run an odd combination of factory GM and an assortment of trash auto replacement wires for it + a few out of a couple of sets of replacement Taurus wires. Some were grey, some were black, but they ended up the perfect length to clear the headers…

it ran well that way.

Started with some Jacobs wires, then went to MSD and then finally some autozone replacements (cheap and the boots don’t melt), and we couldn’t document any performance loss from supposedly stepping down in wire quality.
