Exhaust Idea

hey guys, some of you know i've been really debating on which exhaust to get...i talked to a few engine builders about my cam and motor, and they said go with dual 2.5's, or a
single 3.5 or 4 inch like a mufflex or something....so i was checking out what mufflex has to offer, and i was looking at it with my dad, and he said i could make that same system at
work with stainless....so it got me thinking, maybe i'll just do that, and run like a single 3.5 or 4" bullet muffler...the only downfall is, the bender at his work is a crinkle bender, not a
mandrel bender....it doesn't crush the pipe, just puts like crinkles on the outside of the bend...so i talked to the same guys again, and they said i should go with a 4" because it
would be more restrictive since it is crinkle bended....so they said i would have like the flow of a 3.5" system that is mandrel bent, and they said that would be good...my question
is now, will a 4" go over the axle with all the clearance i need? my main concern is getting it up and over and clearing the panhard bar, becauses i hear alot of your guys have
problem with that....should there enuf clearance...also they said since the exhaust is out the back it will be alot more tolerable than being dumped before the rear axle...you guys think
i got a good idea with this system instead of dumpin it before the rear axle.....i figure if guys can fab up a dual 3" in factory location, i should be able to handle a single 4"....

You won't have the same flow as a 3.5" mandrel bent system. Parts of your 4" will but you have have a lot of turbulent flow where the kinks are in the bends. That in itself can drastically reduce your flow velocity potential of that 4" piping.

okay, so now i'm back to square one...so if your saying it won't give me the flow of a 3.5" mandrel bend, what will it give me, the flow of like a 3" mandrel bent system...then its not worth it, i mines well go with a prefabbed 3" catback...maybe i'll just have to go back to my dual 2 1/2 idea dumped before the rear axle...but thats going to be insanely loud inside the car, and i really want some nice big chrome tips hanging out the back...
