mmm headers
I recently bought a 84 camaro with a 350 and headers.
im driving it and all of a sudden i get some loud exhaust noises coming from the engine. as i decelerate my car backfires >.<
the passenger side header near the firewall is leaking, where can i go to get this fixed?

Axle/Gears: 10 bolt 3.23
Normally the cause is an exhaust gasket leak. Unless you have extremely rusted/wrapped headers then it might be a small hole in the tube.
If you're a do it yourselfer, you could go buy the correct replacement gasket from autozone or napa and put it on.
Or the local auto repair shop or exhaust shop should beable to swap out gaskets for you.
A header has 2 different gaskets: 1 is the flange gasket that is between the header and the motor, the 2nd is the collector/donut gasket that goes between the header and the exhaust pipes.

I had to bolt the exhaust manifold back up to my 3.8l ford when i did the head gaskets, and that was a pain in the ***.
i found a performance shop that will do it for me, exhaust shops wont touch it.
its a gasket leak, so hopefully it wont take too long to get a new one put on.
