in the 2000-3000 rpm range while decelerating do any of your cars get real noisy .... I'm just curious if thats just what edelbrocks are like since these are my first and they are pretty noisy and I'm ready to go back to stock exhaust.

or do anyof you have any ideas to quiet them down I was thinking maybe header wrap around they Y pipe might help, maybe it's just there thin wall and wrap will help quiet it down.

 

i didnt notice a difference with mine in sound.. mine are ceramic coated though.

 

Headers have thin walls compaired to the dense stock cast iron manifolds. They therefore do not dampen the sound nearly as well as the stockers. This is inherant of all headers. Changing mufflers and or adding a cat can greatly reduce overally exhaust 'loudness" though.

Header wrap won't do much for you and could become dangerous to use over time. Header compaies won't warrent their headers if heat wrap is used. Too much heat builds up and the headers can become damaged. They also soak in grease, grit and grime over time and could cause a really bad underhood fire.
