It will sound basically the same, but a little bit louder and a little bit deeper w/o a cat (assuming straight pipe, not gutted cat).
exhaust
I currently have that setup on the Iroc with 5.7 litre. Flowmaster cat back with no converter. I also still have the stock manifolds though so that will muffle some sound.
As far as how it sounds it's hard to describe, it is somewhat of a deep sound when putting around, almost reminds me of a muffler with a big hole in it, does no really have that flowmaster sound, I think mainly because the engine has no compression or camshaft. Too wimpy of an engine. (it's stock) but when you jump on it the exhaust does sound a little better but still, I think alot of it has to do with whether or not the engine has some butt to it, in my case it does not.
I run flowmaster exhaust system on 3 other cars of mine, all of which have fairly well built engines, I have never been disappointed with the exhaust tone with any of them, and all 3 are completely different styles of flowmaster systems. Just personal preference really. Larry.
