Flowmaster Cat Back

Will the flowmaster 17133 from summit work for my car? I'm not worried about it not fitting to the cat, but otherwise, will it run where the stock piping runs?

Thanks

That is for the 4th gen f-body, it can be made to fit, but I'm assuming your buying new? Then you should get 17233 flowmaster part number. Oh and the one you listed is only 2.5" pipe, while the 17233 Is 3".

The 17133 is $85 cheaper so that's why I was looking at that one instead. In the product specs it says that it has a 3" intermidiate pipe going into dual 2.5" pipes, so does that mean the pipe is 3" from cat to muffler?

I also tried calling summit, but all they did was search the site, which is what I already have done. Then they just recommend the system that is made for my current factory setup.

Yep sorry that was my fault i read the wrong one, it is 3 inch, and 85 bucks cheaper. I know over the axle pipe is the same except fo the mounting locations, i do not however know about the cat end of it. Maybe someone else can chime in on that.

have you thought about any other catback? the flowmaster wont be good for anything other than sound. there were numbers posted in the LS1 section on cz28.com a while back showing a 3 inch flowmaster catback flows worse than the stock 2.5 inch z28 cabtack...i would suggest a look at a better catback.

I can't find a better cat back for the price. Looking at Summit, the only cheap brands are dynamax, hooker, and flowmaster. Dynamax doesn't have 3" pipe. Hooker has ugly tips (i want 2 exit pipes, not 4). So, the only thing I'm left with is flowmaster.

Is there any other brand that offers a 3" catback that goes to 2.5" dual exit pipes and costs $250 or below?

personally if you want a cheap catback, just leave the stock one on there and get a piece of 3 inch pipe from the cat and get a cutout. then just connect it to the stock catback. that would be the cheaest and highest flowing one. if not i would save up some more and get a better catback. or even just make your own with a muffler and have an exhaust shop bend up some 3 inch pipe.
