Whats the best direct replacement cat?
I think this is right, the I-pipe flange and bolt pattern looks right and its 3" slip fit. (I'm 86-09 single TPI)
Looks good and the price isn't that bad either. I'm not running EGR, will that ruin the cat?
Is there a direct fit cat w/o air that would work for me? Is there a better brand I could go for?
The flowtech headers I bought as a quick fix when I did my engine swap just will not seal up so I'm just going to get the Hooker 2055 headers/ypipe and a new cat.

I got the same cat on eBay for like $112. I don't remember if that included shipping or not, it may have. Works great. I've had it mated to my 3" SLP cat-back for the last few months, and today I just took my car to a shop to get a piece of pipe welded onto my SLP Y-pipe to fit into the cat (the SLP Y-pipe for their headers I installed yesterday doesn't mate to the cat). Seems like a good piece to me. Really helped on the emissions side of things too, as well as opening things up a bit over the stock 17-year-old cat.
Take a look at a Catco cat for a direct replacement for model year & motor. I used a CTO-9018 for 3" in and out with air and slip fit. Check it out a Sumitt Performance for your application a better buy then E-bay.

Put the Catco on my 88. Fit up fine, sounds some louder than the stock. Has an air tube that is capped off, if you don't need it leave as is. No problems with this converter.
