replace stock LG4 Y-pipe

Is there a mandrel bent (i.e. efficient) Y-Pipe that will "bolt into" an lg4 with stock manifolds, EFE, and stock cat?

thanks,
phil

I'd say just go for headers and Y-pipe or have a shop fab up a Y pipe.

Not that I know of, but anything is better than an LG4 system. I swapped to the L69 (manifolds, y-pipe, and intermediate pipe along with a high flow cat and muffler) and noticed a remarkable difference. Note the pics in the following link:

I replaced my LG4 Y pipe with a 3" one from a carb'd IROC. I already had an Edelbrock cat back. The IROC Y pipe is, IIRC, stainless. While it only added a minor amount of power to my LG4, Dyno Don claims that on a high performance engine, that Y pipe could be worth up to 30 hp.

BTW, a Y pipe from a TPI Camaro won't work on a carb'd car.

No dierect bolt in y pipe is made. Your best bet is to save and buy a set of headers with a y pipe. If you think you just need a better flowing Y chances are you could really use the whole setup.

This is exactly what you should do:

Buy a 3" replacement slip-fit cat (for an L98 car) and call up Gales banks and order a 3" cat back with an LG4 y-pipe that goes into a 3" slip fit cat. I did that on my Camaro and IROC and it added about 35hp without any other changes - it also sounded awesome.
